Salma Hayek has been sued by a former assistant writer and filmmaker Oliver Stone, called Azita Zendel, who claims that the Mexican actress and producer "stole" portions of a script he belonged and which was used there for TV series Ugly Betty, starring America Ferrera.
Zendel, who moves in the circle of writers and writers in Hollywood, not only was an assistant to Stone, but is also a television personality, author of books such as 'Hollywood Apprentice: How to break into Hollywood and survive the toxic boss syndrome' and was the director, producer and writer of the film 'Controlled Chaos'.
The applicant is demanding he pay Hayek about 2 million dollars in damages and monetary benefits of a script that did not belong. The charges were filed in a California court. 'Ugly Betty' was a popular television series, broadcast in primetime on ABC, and achieved high ratings in the United States.
The applicant detailed in his plea that the series in its English version, was not limited to the original plot of the telenovela 'you soy Betty, La Fea "and that included elements of character development and story were the same of course the product created by Azita Zendel.
